He departed from @Grezig and her phantom man with haste, respectfully as he could.  Such a thing was not uncommon where he came from, but he still felt as if he'd been intruding on something he rather would've remained ignorant of.  It does not escape him that perhaps that is why she'd been buttering him up, and he is glad that she found it between the forelimbs of someone that — well, that wasn't him.

He forged south instead of back towards his temporary home.  He had come to the decision that he'd have to find another pack to join; with how Liri had treated Grezig, and how many other capable men there were in the pack, his effort would go to waste there.  He'd have to find somewhere a little more needy, and with winter so close upon the horizon he wasn't quite sure if he'd have any luck.

Beneath the stars he lays beneath a bare, twisted tree, basking in the solitude.
