He emerged from the lake, a thick and wriggling trout fighting in his jowls as he kicked himself above the water's surface level. Cry was trying to stay to meals that would test his endurance and keep his cardio up, as this journey ahead of him was going to be a long one. Being a lone wolf was a hard life; one that he was used to. Gwen, his last official Alphess, was who he fought to regain in the harsh wild. He had befriended a bear, accepted a few newcomers, and led his life with purpose for her.
'In the end', he thought to himself as the shadow paddled to the shore. 'I have a purpose, for once.' It was true. He had a goal, a reason for his work now, rather than it being a contract he was given reward to finish. No, this was an entirely new world of work, and it gave him a sense of fulfillment. He was grateful to Gwen for accepting his proposal, his wish to take her back to her days, where she would remain with her head high if she chose, or dipped and humble if she chose. What mattered, was she there free to do what she pleased, again.
It seemed what helped keeping him going was thinking of her. He tried to focus on his tasks, but his self discipline would wane momentarily, and his thoughts would swim back to the ivoria's existence, lingering on his ice-gilded mind with intangible perfection. He would gently push it away for it to return with even more detail.
Consuming the fish would wait until he got atleast 3 more; he wanted a nice sized meal out of this excercise. Who knew when the loner would get anything else. Cry knew well how to be prepared. Before he slid silently back into the clear water, he noticed the female who was enjoying her own release not too far from the shore he decked on. Well, no, he had noticed her the moment he came out of the water, but choosing to remain 'normal' or seem 'friendly', the assassin barked a 'normal and friendly' greeting to her, souring at his voice's vibrations scaring the fish away from their original curiousity of him.
"Hey there," baritones swifted over the waters to the small and rather pretty fae. She was a cold set of colors, a shimmer of silver and white pearlescent nder a light lace of blue and storm gray.
