Porcupine Ridge immortals

He nods.  Not really my kinda thing, either. He'd never been about that life, although he could hold his own if it came down to it.  Now that he thought about it, he wasn't sure if he was really good at anything.  He liked kids, and although he'd never had any of his own he'd reared many of his nieces and nephews.

He meets her eyes briefly before his gaze flickers to the ridge.  Mind keepin' me company?  She said she'd come up here to see the sunrise, but now that it was already up he wasn't sure if she'd want to stick around.
