Blackfeather Woods want my friend, want my heart’s mend

Before she could reach her dark counterpart the larger wolf was upon her sibling. Tail remained flagged upward, hackles pricked and every bit of her body ready to move. She stopped in her tracks as the other wolf hovered over Squeaky. What you want? Forest belongs to us, she informed him, in case he thought that just because he could pin her, he could take this. She thought back to her encounter with the silver youth and the crushing weight of his teeth. For a moment she contemplated attacking this one despite his threats, for if he was like the silver one, he would do it anyway. And bodies were just tools. Inconvenient to be broken, but these woods were the best place to be broken so that one's spirit could linger where many, many others did too.

But she withstood the tempting and remained level-headed for now, staring him down as she willed him to leave.
