Marruz could attest to the value of the Canis Major constellation. Himself, he held a deep reverence for Sirius. Being the brightest of the stars, it was naturally a compelling point of reference for him when he was ripe and just awakening within the world.
He could tell that the star held its own significance for the lady adjacent, and he studied in that covert way of his (with his darkest eye being closest to her side, and, thus, difficult to detect) the way she breathed every word. Just as soon as it dawned on him, the boy snapped his gaze upwards once more. So, he wondered in awe, the stars have guided her, too.
Indeed, it was the stars that had shown him how to find the Melonii. Without them, he would never have bested his two brothers in the race. Thus, as his gaze gaped across the Dog Star, it traveled onwards to Lepus, the hare it would never catch, and his thoughts turned to a recent encounter with yet another stranger beneath the stars. He was engulfed in these peculiar revelations when those wide eyes fluttered down from the dark serene; down to a tall, gloomy sapling of a wolf.
"Certainly," he replied in as casual a tone as he could muster. He paused a moment, groping for somewhere to continue his testament. Indigo eye swept the many files within his brain, searching for an artifact suitable enough for the moment. "Well, it may not be as poetic, but my relationship with the stars hasn't only been one-sided."
He gestured to the faint outline of a ring around the moon. "See that? It occured last year during this very season," his voice was filled with a small dash of, if it were possible, pride. "I believe that what we're watching is the interplay of many different patterns... You can use that kind of information to keep track of time. I'm almost certain the Gods want us to know this. I believe it is among the few tools we are given in life."
