Shadewood Slow your role, getta a hold don't melt

He grunted, then grunted some more. The tree he rubbed against was now thick with winter plumage from his back but it felt good. He rocked down onto all fours again, snorting then sneezing. The air was crisp, it was fresh. He didn't have cramps or pins and needles. He'd been stretching his legs recently. Getting ready for the hunting that would come. 
He liked to hunt a calf after waking up, made him feel alive; then it was back to scavenging and the odd hunt when he had the energy. 

He swung his head around, yawning and scratching an itch from his shoulder. It was a nice day. He started to amble off again, looking for a good, thick trunked sequioa. He wondered if those funny berry trees had regrown, but doubted it. Perhaps he'd take a summer trip.
Such trivial things for a bear to think about on a sunny day, yet why shouldn't he? Would he find a mate this year? Maybe. He hadn't scented any recent females around but he supposed there was more to explore as yet.
