it took longer than she anticipated to climb across the mountainside and down in to the valley, but as she lurched from one gulley to the next and was faced with a sheer cliff wall, the vagrant knew she needed a new game plan. it wasn't worth it to burn through all these calories when there was no destination in mind - and she was hungry, always.
beside her something trembled in the dark; a shuddering of the oaken forest, a whispering, which she paused to listen to. a sneer soon slipped across her face and her small ears twisted back-then-front, as if hearing something she did not like. the sneer deepend as she peered over her shoulder in to the black void-like forest, and as she slunk away from whatever-it-was she saw, the woman became like a dribbling ink spill as she worked her way further in to the vale.
