Some of what he said went straight over her head, having missed the context of the Sunspire and Swiftcurrent tension. But what she did know was that at the time she'd been hungry, lost, and alone. Nothing she would've admitted then, and certainly didn't need to now as she mirrored his shrug and diverted her gaze, still not willing to budge on the issue.

What about her?Her tone was flat, refusing to admit she was a bit concerned with the way he'd brought up the topic. What really worried her the most though was that he seemed to think it was his business, and Kipling was curious to see how that was the case.
