If her words had not dumbstruck him enough, he found himself further struck by her closeness. His body stayed rooted to his spot and although he did not push her away he did not openly invite her closer. There was a lump in his throat as his brain rattled and scattered for an option.
I'm...His voice tapered off as he tried to process just exactly what was going on. Truth be told, he wasn't entirely sure and there probably wasn't enough time in the world for him to come out of this making the right choices.
