She didn't know what she'd done—maybe slept funny—but Bat's hips felt really achy this morning. She tried to stretch and warm her muscles with a stroll along the beach, her ankles dipping in the waves, and it helped some. But by the time she left the sands to roam the grove, her posterior still felt strangely sore.

Bat wasn't looking for Tristan, though odds were always good she'd gravitate to him eventually, and so she did today. "Hey," she called while his leg was hiked in the air, only a few droplets escaping him like juice squeezed from an orange. She laughed. "I've come with a full bladder, ready to be put to work, if you want some company?"
