Part of him regretted leaving Easthollow after Valette had taken him in. He had promised to make it worth her trouble and what had he done? He had abandoned the pack without much more than a goodbye. On the other hand it had been too painful for him to surround himself by memories that only he couldn't recall. The way people looked at him like they saw a completely different person made his skin crawl. Keeping that in mind he had begun to put effort into the pack that he had pledged himself to for his sister. Dawn had asked him to come with her, to have a second shot at life. The offer was too good not to accept and here he was, on his way to investigate the sound of honking around the stream. 

Hiding a distance away he crouched low to the ground and stared at the familiar birds swimming in the water and flocked in a group on the shore. Geese, large birds with powerful wings and a painful bite but a lot of meat on them. Not to mention the feathers would make good additions to the bedding for any of the females who would be pregnant. He lay low for the moment, holding still to minimize the risk of being seen or the breeze catching his scent and carrying it to the birds.
