newt's ears cup forth as the man responds verbally to his chuff, unsure what to make of the unsual greeting. what was wrong with just saying 'hello'? hello, newt responds, imperal gaze volleying from the cliffs that he does not feel comfortable keeping his back to and the stranger that approaches. upon closer inspection, his face is full of scars that twist his face in an unattractive way.

not wanting to stare — for it wasn't as if newt wasn't used to seeing face scars — he diverts his eyes.

yeah, it's ... nice? breathtaking? dizzying? terrifying? all of the above. ... something. good or bad newt has yet to decide.
