She had hoped that the priest would add to his numbers given enough time. Weeks went by, her choices dwindled. Impatience grew, she was even starting to feel anxious. The number of sacrifices the priest had now was inadequate. If he wasn't going to bring her the food she desired, someone else will.
The beast sprinted across the water and leaped towards the wolf. Her claws latched onto his shoulders, her teeth pierced his skull. He screamed. The screams did not cease as she dragged him beneath the shallow water, nor when she tore into his belly. It took a long time for him to fall silent.
By the time she left, the priest was nothing but a hollowed mess. The only thing left intact was his head. His face would forever be contorted by fear.
