With the greeting returned, Kaori settled on her haunches nearby, relaxed. “Yes, you are correct,” she assured the other woman with a nod. “Am I interrupting you?” She could not tell if company was wanted or not, and so thought she might as well ask. At least, if it was unwanted, she would have a reason to excuse herself without appearing rude; the lingering, sour taste in her mouth reminded her why she was there, then, but she kept still. She could endure it for now.
