Naturalist trade for personal reference. For @Shadow ! :D Sorry this post is crap. :x
The afternoon was cool, giving evidence to Hem's prediction that fall would be upon them early this year, that the death of plants and the migrations of herds would be sooner than they expected. There was nothing to be done about it if the soothsayer's prediction proved to be true other that earlier preparations for winter. It was hard to determine if the early coming of fall might lead into a harsh winter at this point. Hemingway held nothing more concrete that suspicions but mother nature was a fickle mistress and there was no real way of determining what would be and what might not be until it actually happened, or accordingly, didn't happen. Even for a naturalist nothing was truly ever set in stone. For many, it brought about the questioning of the practice, a reservation that Hem did not take offense too. If he predicted something wrong it looked as if he were lying, or a fraud when the truth of the matter was not so black and white. Weather and star reading, even his 'visions' was not so cut and dry. There were many things that could change and it was this reason that he was hesitant to share in his talents with those that he did not know.
He lingered in the coniferous forest of aspens, bursting with the trees' brilliant colors of the setting sun even in the broadest daylight. The nature of the cloudy day did not allot for much time in the sun but the brilliant colors of the canopy above granted a natural lightness to what would otherwise be darkened each time a thick, cottony cloud obscured the sun. It added a illusion of protection, a feeling of ease that he couldn't exactly place, knowing only that he felt it. Violet eyes set upon the towering aspens as he moved through the forest, stretching legs more so than doing anything else. Having just awoken from a 'cat nap' he was left with feeling the stiffness of staying still in one position for too long.
