Thunder only happens when it's raining

The two females closed in distance, Galena mirroring Astara's instinctual intention. She allowed approach without apprehension, biased towards trusting women far more than their counterpart, and kept her muscles laxed as the inky stranger traveled down her figure.

Astara would be able to smell distant lands to the north (their wet and mossy scrim, mountainous and densely forested), blood from a past kill, the scent of another vagrant wolf she had fought with... but, most notably, the lack of pack or pride. Galena was a dispersal wolf without allegiance. If Astara was exceptionally keen she'd pick out her natal scent of other women, for Galena hailed from a matriarchal society which was deep in their own ways and traditions.

While her company probed, Galena took the moment to steal a glance towards the midnight woman. She noticed her dangerous violet eyes and the way in which her hair draped haphazardly along her spine. A shiver rippled through her -- a pump of adrenaline. Galena became that much more intrigued by this unusual being. She, too, sought answers by scent and moved towards Astara to catch a whiff of her history along the nape, should she grant permission.
