Ferdie rested his head upon the floor of the den he was between the female and pups and the den entrance, He lay there so that he might hear any danger outside or be the first to wake if the pups or female did, he would be their servant bringing food and anything they could wish for. He guarded their sleep, it was as precious to him as with was necessary to them. he eyes were soft as he looked upon the pups, and the mother was held in the same regard.


There was a bond he shared with Erika now, albeit not as strong as that of mateship but a bond none the less. He would see her as the mother of 'his' pups forever more. Should the real father return well Ferdie hoped that would not happen for a long time, but he would have to convince the biological father to share some way, some how. If the father had an interest in the pups at all some males were like that mate and move on... He had no idea what he had blundered into here
