The Masterless Knight

She blinked up at the raven-furred male as he informed her of how he suspected the strange male expected her to act, but could not find it in herself to talk down to the loner before them. Paarthurnax was no leader; she was gentle and delicate, a wolfess who could respect a hierarchy but treated everyone respectfully outside a pack environment. As far as she was concerned, this was entirely neutral. They were not on claimed lands, there was no competition for prey, there was nothing that put her into the position to instruct this wolf.

Uncertain, the bi-coloured medic frowned thoughtfully and as she turned toward the sterling male, but caught a glimpse of another heading their way. Paar quickly recognised the approaching form to be that of Shadow, and she observed quietly as he strode confidently forward and into the heart of the group to address the stranger and promptly took charge. Irritation bubbled within her at once, and she furrowed her brow a little in disapproval. The unknown grey wolf had done nothing wrong, and there was no requirement for his dominant stance. Unimpressed, Paarthurnax remained silent and lingered in the background.
