Nimble feet carried her far beyond the reaches of Easthollow's claims, through a marshy area and at last to a glen where she felt she could safely find a place to spend the night. She hoped none had followed her- and simply assumed that none would. It would likely take them days to realize that Oryx hadn't just run from the fight- but that she'd run from the pack as well. She could not explain herself, and would not leave herself vulnerable to being hunted down, and knew the fear of having to flee before. The rains had helped her escape, and she'd fled like a migratory bird, scaling whatever landmarks she had to in her attempt to put more and more distance between herself and the grasslands.
Eventually, she found herself reaching the end of the world- where the land sloped down to a rough and tempermental sea. She wondered how far it went- and if it was potentially worth swimming out to see, and allow her life to become what it would- either dragged to the bottom by the long strands of kelp, or drifted back to shore. But she worried, still, that she might be tracked. So she continued her journey down along the shore- choosing to bury her tracks by constantly travelling in the knee-deep waves that raked the shallows. That should make her impossible to follow, and she felt so far from Easthollow now that she dreamt she would be safe.
She roved toward a forest to find a peaceful place to sleep, but caught the scent of another wolf- and blood. She stiffened, tasting the metallic scent on the air and for the first time, she doubted if she should intervene. Normally, it came natural to her- to find the injured wolf, find them, and help heal them. But now...They would potentially slow her down, and she carried with her no herbs. She bore guilt like a heavy yoke- and with a soft sigh, she set off, following her nose until-
-the shadow she'd thought had been simply the trunk of one tree leaning against the trunk of another which grew suddenly had eyes. And a dark, angular frame. Oryx balked; and dropped to the ground in submission. She'd been dithering this way and that, trying to track the female by her scent- and hadn't expected to draw so close before catching sight of her. "I mean no harm. I can heal." She said, hoping that that pathetic excuse might be a barter for her life.
