Speed was one of the few elements she had on her side, though this time it had failed her. A feeling all too familiar to the girl as the man gave his unspoken challenge.

Another emotion stirred within her at that look, a wave of anger that rivaled the anger of her empty stomach. Wet ears fell flat against her skull as Kali lowered her head, a paw raised to take a careful step forward. So her plan fell apart, but it was not over yet. He didn't run and her meal was still grasped between his jaws. Perhaps this man just wanted to toy with her, but in her eyes, she still had a chance, she just had to outsmart him.

If it weren't for the falling rain, the scene might have appeared as if time had stopped. Seconds passed by as she planned her next move. He was probably expecting another snatch at the prey he held, so she would have to go for the unexpected. Charging forward once more, Kali bore her fangs again though this time as she neared she would continue to plow by, her jaws shooting out to nip at his hindquarters. If she was lucky the surprise would cause him to drop the rabbit, then all she had to do was turn and snatch it in her sprint.
