It was a healthy, good place. Good hunting.
One of the things that Umi had never learned from her mother was how exactly she was supposed to pick the place she was to hold forever. Mother had also warned that other lions could try to take her territory, that once she chose it, others would actively steal things that she claimed to be hers.

This was something she dreaded. Conflict seemed...awful.
And so she remained in the Vale.
She knew that there had once been wolves there. She knew Benry, gorgeous boy, was nearby somewhere. The cat was convinced somehow that the wolves had left for good.

Her hunts had been unsuccessful that day. She strode on the borders of the vale, marking a tree with a spray of urine even though she had no intention on staying permanently.
