Nothing. The pack, Rusalka, that she was certain would be right in their paws, was gone. With little of a trace. No sign of Alizarin either.

She couldn't linger here any longer. Two trips within a year, with little to show for it? She'd lose her position soon enough. And she couldn't let that happen, revenge be damned. She was lucid enough to know that she couldn't continue chasing her white whale.

She strayed further and further north, scraping for any sign.
