Kipling, who had been walking away, considered not turning around--after all, as far as she was concerned her business there was finished. But the voice seemed to demand that she stop, and she reluctantly she halted, rolling her eyes as she did so. She couldn't imagine what the male wanted from her, perhaps enraged she had come to close? But to that effect, she had already been retreating.
Wrinkling her nose, she considered her options briefly, before deciding no matter what it was that he was after, she would do well not to make it worse. Smoothing out her expression, she turned.
