As she turned, the pretty girl offered him warning.

The goofy smile slipped from Sawamura’s features. He blinked at her, tilting his head, ears pricked.

Then she was gone.

Ominous, he thought. There were no intentions to disobey the warning. Haru called out in a coyote’s yip and then turned away from the woman and slipped into the shadows.
