Lýkos saw the girl. A Coywolf like himself. Though easily a year younger. She looked not even 2 and he was nearing 3. But she was significantly leaner and smaller than him. More coy than wolf. Unlike himself. He was literally named after his wolf half. He wasn't sure how he felt about the situation he was in. He wanted the rabbits she'd just hunted. He knew he could easily steal them from her as he could easily beat her in a fight, and though they had similar builds, he had strong muscle visibly rippling under fur. But he could also play it nice and perhaps get an ally or future mate. She was too young to breed though.
So he decided to go with his gut instinct: Attack and steal her prey. He slunk slowly and low to the ground around to the tunnels she was just emerging from, waiting for her to try to adjust her eyes to the light before leaping at her, aiming to land on her back and pin her down.
