The strange child did not appear pleased with their arrival. The wagging of Saleem’s tail slowed, and his ears went from appeasing-flat to concerned-flat. Arsenio stood back, allowing the children to interact freely. It was about this time that footsteps—followed by a crash and a sneeze—sent a startled Saleem careening toward the strange child, completely missing her silent signals.

With his twin now here, his demeanor quickly returned to a much more positive one, ignoring the strange child momentarily for his brother. Once their reunion ritual was complete, Saleem once more turned his attention to the strange child. He slapped his front paws on the ground, bowing low while his rear end remained high in the sky, tail twitching behind him.
