Things had been peaceful at the Bypass, at least for now. Little did he know, though, that a cougar had infiltrated their borders, and that the boy he considered a younger brother, the son of Apollo, was the first to confront it. It was unfortunate that he finished the round of border patrols this morning, faster than before, or he would've noticed the feline lurking around. But his current mission was to find his slave, Enya. She was the only wolf currently at the pack who held a special status. Soon, Shadow would appoint Optios and torturers and all that, but only after they were better established. He also needed to train a few wolves to be the elite warriors, the Praetorian Guard. Shadow didn't need body guards, but he felt that there should be some elite soldiers who's first job was protection of the pack.
Right now, he was approaching Divinum Campi, hoping to grab some food from the recently filled food caches. The Roman sniffed the air and located one of the caches, jaws clamped around two rabbits and after placing that down and pushing his nose into the food storage, he located a few berries and added that to his pile which he moved to the spot beside the lake.
Hadrian tore at the rabbit meat, chewed and swallowed in a graceful manner. Deciding not to find Enya since he was too lazy and it was a slave's job to always come when its master called, he finished the first rabbit, lifted his head into the air and howled for the white Roman female. He had hoped she was well now, well enough to start with her duties, or whe would never get out of slavery.
