Porcupine Ridge Chapter two | With my chin held up, there’s always better luck tomorrow!

Massaraq had set out some time ago, feather from @Ajei tucked behind his ear and a fur with herbs nestled inside resting across his shoulders, small and unassuming. He had promptly gotten lost, heading towards the eastern mountain range thinking to keep those peaks in sight and yet though he continued his headings he could not say where Moonglow might be located there. But he found the brightest star at night and tried not to worry about how he might find his way home when the time came. He hunted small game for himself, keeping fed enough to keep up his strength and yet not feeling fully satiated. Nothing told him it was near time, perhaps he would never know. That fear gripped him with uncertainty that had his paws wavering in a way he knew he could not afford over this terrain.

But the sound of another, a lout whoop caught his ears and he felt a wave of optimism. Another face and a wolf to speak to, perhaps someone who knew the area or another traveler would be welcome. However, when he headed in that direction and saw the porcupine and wolf edging closer he slid his pack off his back taking quick and sure steps forward as he called out "Wait! Careful!"
