Can be a cameo if you don't want to respond. <3

The tundra was like the Wastes, like home. Bitter daggers of wind slashed at his face, lavender eyes squinting to mere lines within an endless sea of black. The man's steady, stalking steps in the fresh snow emitted a steady crunch, crunch, crunch, but otherwise he was silent.

A cry on the wind. Notes of sorrow, of longing. Silas stopped, lifting his head to listen to the other's song. Searching, searching... they were searching. A familiar chord resonated within his own heart. Empathy. It had not been so long ago that he buried the bodies, the only time in his life he'd allowed the tears to flow.

Would he respond? No. What consolation could he give to the seeker? He had none. He lowered his head again and continued onward. Perhaps he'd catch sight of the one who sought, perhaps not, but a silent wish for mercy, for relief, he sent their way.
"Grief cannot be avoided - only deferred."
