The Star Queen awoke restless that day. She couldn't understand why. All was as well as could be on the great mountain. Sialuk and her newborns seemed to be doing fine. She checked in on her lover and the little ones frequently. Bringing her lover food, water or fresh furs. Anything she needed to keep herself and the trio comfortable. Even when she needed a break, Elentari happily stepped in to watch over and dote on the tiny bundles.

It was after just one such call of babysitting, that as she exited Sialuk's ulaq, that she found her thoughts with more children of her own. Of Alaric. Of Maggak and Acrux. Less so, Argent, who had gone his own way. She felt a tinge of nervousness, unlike last year. Their lives would be shaped differently, this time. And the unknown made her slightly edgy.

The reason for her odd flux of emotions showed itself later in the day. She was bent low, counting the stocks of her herbs, when she felt warm. Like a sudden blanket of white hot heat pulling over entire body. The cool air of her mountain home did nothing to ease the flame. Pinpricks under her skin. 

As if under a spell, she abandoned her careful sorting and turned away. Her mind went elsewhere. To Alaric. The man she shared her deepest feelings towards, and his with her. There was nothing they kept secret from each other. All she could think of was him. His strong embrace and his devilish charm as she tracked him down.
