He listened carefully as the little wolf spoke. He would try - it was worth an attempt. If it failed, he would have little wolf fish for him.

Head turning back to the water, he waited until a fish swam by. First swipe, a miss. He grumbled to himself, but the occasional failure was to be expected.

Stood still, another soon came. This time he hit, the fish flying straight up out of the water. His rounded ears perked for a moment, surprised and nearly too late, but he raised slightly and caught the creature in his open jaws.

A satisfying catch! He looked to the little wolf, pleased.

Bear and Little Wolf, friends now. His tone was surprisingly pleasant though muffled, and the hulk lumbered away without any further words.
