The bed of coals within him was reignited to flame.

The serpent, glittering and lovely and cool to the touch, slithered into the private little shadow of space she had opened to him in her heart and coiled there to rest.

The seduction continued with his body— his teeth, his tongue— massaging her, preening flesh and fur to draw her mind from contemplation and into his hale embrace once more.

He let his need of her be known by the steaming press of himself against her silken body. His muzzle stroked her every curve. His limbs held fast to her svelte form, pulling her irreversibly close. He murmured his earlier prayers to her, low beneath the snowstorm’s whistling, spoke tenderly of his sibling gods:

Ananke, mother of necessity— giver of prey and water and instinct; Steady Chronos of time, of night and day cycling, and his fickle twin brother, Kairos of ever-changing weather; Genderless, formless, wordless Aion, the soulreaper, the Ferrier of the dead.

And he took her again, under banner of the Fates, taking his time to worship her with slow, spit-roasted passion rather than nuclear fervor and desire from before. He did not loosen his hold until she trembled uncontrollably, sweated of all strength, and until he was hollowed, empty so that she might be filled.
