sulukinak grew up alongside their halfblood littermates. she was born small, but grew to become a skilled and avid swimmer. ran alongside tuvittugak and agakiggruk when they all chose to band together & disperse from their mother's conclave; but then became separated from them.
has become estranged from dutch following the birth of his children with simbelmyne and awaits her uncle cen, who agreed to take her from morningside so that she could learn about her father's people. when he did not arrive on the agreed upon date, sulukinak chose to seek him out and followed his trail to moonglow, where he is on trial.
followed cen, who became sun eater, to qeya river which he usurped, and accepts her place as part of saatsine. that winter while they roam after the caribou, sulukinak strayed; feeling the call of something primal, she went first to the sea and then to the ice, where she was met by faust of darukaal.

after seeking men during her heat (during which time she slept with two men of darukaal) she returned to the saatsine, discovering that chieftain sun eater was near-death after a maiming. blaming herself for not being present, fearing she might lose the last true family she's ever known, sulukinak focuses on his care and support. meanwhile, dangers loom as cen's wife rallies darukaal against them.
