Hideaway Strath Bloodsucker

mictec did not shift as the pale-furred stranger closed the distance, nor did she recoil when the sharp inquisitiveness of a cold nose pressed into her coat. she remained still, steady, like the obsidian stone of a shrine untouched by time. the only movement was the slow blink of marigold eyes, unfazed, unreadable.

not quite. the simple words were spoken with the weight of certainty. she needed nothing fixed. what was broken was meant to remain so, or to mend in its own time. yet, there was something in this one—something restless, eager, a flame flickering dangerously close to dry kindling.

i came here to prove to myself i am not the same as i was when i was last here. the experience itself was not so long ago but in mere weeks mictec had begun to accept the blood that coursed through her veins, one of lust, of power, of royalty.
