How long had it been since he’d seen @Tvar and @Towhee Jr? Had it been more than a month? Did that mean their puppies were here? The thought pushed him east, then north, as he approached the valley where they lived. He didn’t know if he wanted to meet newborn pups—if they’d even let him—but he had a strong inkling that their mom would want to know the latest news.
He came up to the edge of the territory, where his sister’s and brother-in-law’s markings were quite distinct. Bushtit paused to sniff the air, trying to suss out any clues, but he quickly gave up on that and howled. Jr wouldn’t hear him, naturally, and they might be busy with their litter. He licked his nose and kept an eye out for anyone who might respond in their stead.
