His ears flick to catch a commotion in the woods. The hunt had begun. Now pacing, his tail flagged confidently as the herd emerged and fled past their hold in a chaotic noise of hooves and panicked bleats. And with all the fire of a waiting panther, the Captain sprang after them and caught the heels of the last doe with sharp teeth. Hex sped past and secured a firm bite on her shoulder, and Firefly too was nipping somewhere in the fray.

With the rest of his crew bringing up the rear, he wondered through the bloodlust who would make the killing bite.
