Bearclaw Valley wildflower

her pace was slow, gentle, welcoming. knowing eyes watched twitch from their corners, noticing her unease. the storm inside of the young woman that clouds her own vision toward herself. the haze of discontent and self-doubt. she understood it, as she had lived with that same cloud looming above. 

so she listened. and when twitch was finished, she let her words hang in the air around them for just a moment. "making mistakes is not as bad as you think. it's...normal. supposed to happen. how else does would you improve?" came her soft statement. 

it was obvious, in a way that made Winnie's heart weep, that someone in twitch's life hadn't been so forgiving, nor understanding. that someone had witnessed her failures and hated her for it. she wishes then, that she herself could have shielded the young woman. that somehow, she could have been there for her as a shoulder to lean on. 

as the person who praised her, and not belittled.

"but how do you know what you can offer, when you're too afraid to try something new?" came her gentle rebuttal. not to nag or to prod, but hopefully get twitch to see a new side. perhaps shed a little light where there was only darkness and gloom. "you holding yourself back is only going to hurt you. and i can assure you, no one here will mind a failure. it is a part of growing."
