Wapun Meadow good, honest work

he waits. he watches; cole is fierce with his approach. the doe's panicked bleat, followed by the thunder of its hooves, are a welcomed sound. muscles coil beneath his short coat, his docked tail twitching as energy bubbles in his veins. and yet, he doesn't move from his spot. not until the doe is barreling toward him, it's tail a white flag.

he lunges when cole orders him to. surges from the thicket with a rumble, lips curled and jaws parted. yellowed teeth finding purchase in the doe's neck as it crashed against him. he digs his hind legs into the dirt, skidding a few inches back until his bulwark form allows no further push. with a rough pull, he drags the doe down. off her feet, her side slamming against the earth with a puff of dust.

dolce towers above it, yanking at the creature's fragile neck until it snaps. it's legs thrash and kick; he does not drop it from his grasp until it finally stills, it's eyes glossing over with lifelessness. 

he spits the neck from his jaws with a rasp. "fine work, cole." his voice rough, but no less earnest.
