He turns his head but does not spot the canine. However with a smell so strong, he knows they have to be close. But you know what they say; gamers bears never look up. Well, not really, but his neck rolls do make it uncomfortable. Unwilling to raise to his back legs without first knowing where the other may potentially charge from, he instead lets out a 'roar', an attempt to intimidate.
