rabbit! he knew rabbit.
rabbit was the quick thing.
sometimes on slow days, when he was fat and happy (having glut himself upon a well aged stomach, or picked through good bones-) qapnuk would watch them outwit many foes.
today he watched a wolf chase, catch, and cull one such speedster and he was thrilled, as much by the spectacle as the taste left lingering on the wind.
the wolf meandering away, qapnuk winged after it with a lazy pivot of his tail feathers. perhaps he would find somewhere with many, and with wolves there always came waste for him to covet.
