Duskfire Glacier The moon cuts a path

Tikigâk’s scent was beginning to permeate each part of the territory as she, too, came to know the land. It was also her intent to learn of its inhabitants, her pack mates and subordinates, now. She strode toward the borders, pausing now and then to sniff at a tree that held the furs of wolves—and prey—that had passed through. 

One scent was fresher than all of the rest.

The she-wolf adjusts her route, curving toward the path of Dione. The woman was not yet in her line of sight, but soon she would be. Tikigâk made no mystery of her approach; Dione would likely hear her coming.
