Tikigâk moves ahead with a lifted plume demonstrative of her own hierarchal position and a rigid step, displeased with the boldness of the vulpine beasts. With her own cubs on her mind, Tikigâk’s answer would be to dispatch them with her teeth—now with the aid of Nanook alongside her, positioned perfectly at her flank.
The scent grows stronger. Two of them, perhaps a mated pair testing their fortune. It would not favor them this day, they would soon come to find. Tikigâk moves their path downwind—fox were known for their swiftness, fleetfooted and nimble. When it comes to speed, Tikigâk knows they two—with their gargantuan builds—are at a disadvantage.
And Tikigâk wanted them dead. They sought to take meat from the mouths of their pack. From hear, she could hear them dig into a cache—Tikigâk looks to her hunting partner, crouching against the wind, and gestures the direction they would ambush the mongrels from. It was a slow, deliberate crawl to get close enough to them where the advantage the pale things had would be moot.
The creatures had not detected them, foolish in their greed as they glut themselves.
A brief look to the woman asks, ready?
Tikigâk felt eager to see the woman in motion—and just as eager to use her own teeth alongside her in the hunt.
