The Bracken Woods one

His age, his health, his sex… other unimportant things, at least to her, but not much more than that. He was healthy and hale, a worthy specimen in appearance and scent. But Tikigâk was not one for conversation. 

And so she answers plainly, you. She is a simple wolf, and a literal one at that—but did a scent not reveal who a wolf was, at their very base? No pretending, not there. The scent told her as much as the body did—more, truly. Fear. Caution. Anxiousness. Anger. Joy.

None of that from him, then. Only healthy curiosity. Not a damning diagnosis. 

Tikigâk continued on her way, satiated and seeking a safe place to rest her eyes after her meal, moving to depart the scene with a lash of her tail.
