attn @Blackfell maybe! or anyone else who might want to spar! but tag for reference
Tikigâk recalled the quiet strength of the man at the borders—the man who was no doubt her mates second in command. His scent was the most prevalent upon the borders, other than that of her own mate. His swift presence upon the border was one she would not forget. He was a good guardian, quick to answer the call—and now she wished to test the his mettle in good fun (at least, her definition of it)—a spar. He had seen only a measure of her own that day, and would today, too. It did not mean that she would pull any of her brutal punches, but something different. This was not her enemy.
Already she knew how the enemy fought.
And Blackfell was no enemy, but a brother now in arms. And so, after her own patrol, Tikigâk began to seek him. She followed the path he set, pausing now and then to sniff at other interesting news—another small herd had found its way here, a hare had passed through, to name but two—pausing as a branch broke a mile or so away.
An easy distance to cover, should she need to. Her head swung in that direction, eyes sharp, as one ear swiveled to the right, infinitely aware of her surroundings. It may very well be prey, but Tikigâk was not known to take risks.
