Chandra was growing swiftly into a well-rounded young girl. She often watched her maman and Noctaryn closely, following their actions and demeanours as law.
Laid in a patch of sun, Chandra held a flower between her paws; bright yellow with a stringy stem, a dandelion. She thought it rather pretty, and so many of them had popped up around the vale lately. Later she would pick some to bring home to maman, but this one she had decided to pull apart.
Little teeth working with careful precision, she began with the stem. Pulling half of it back without difficulty, she was surprised to find nothing inside. It was hollow!
Ears perked, she blinked down at her discovery.
