Katmai scaled the lower inclines, seeking out Treepie just for the pleasure of her company. He thought that he suggest a hunt or perhaps just a hike into the higher regions — he knew that she surely had all the best trails memorized. Instead, however, his ears pricked as he drew near, detecting an unfamiliar voice.

Without a much worry, as the conversation seemed peaceful, Katmai quickened his pace, eager to see a new face and learn their name.

"Hello," he said, looking between the two with a happy wheel of his tail. At first glance, he was ready to assume that the pair must be related, despite the stark difference in size. Their contrasting pelts were both so striking, it was the first thing he really saw. "Who is your friend, Treepie?" he asked, flashing a hopeful smile at the older (but still quite young!) male.
