Lake Rodney color me blue

The snow had stopped. That was a small mercy.
Mada had followed a stream north, and now sat in front of a gorgeous, albeit freezing cold, lake. She was nervous, as she had scented quite a few wolves and knew she had entered into somewhat occupied land. She hadn't seen another of her kind in ages, not since leaving her homeland far south of here.
Though not a skilled fisherwoman, she decided to try her luck at the mouth of one of the streams that fed into the lake. After several failed attempts, she sunk her teeth into the cold flesh of a greenish-silver fish and dragged it into the snow, eating with her eyes trained upwards to watch for others.
