Lake Rodney color me blue

The howl startled her, but she maintained composure. Her head raised slightly, ears perking up. She studied the wolf in front of her. He seemed friendly enough --- that is, he wasn't actively attacking her. She shivered, both from the cold (perhaps fishing had been a bad idea) and the thought of violence. But again, the stranger seemed friendly. Maybe he could tell her where she was, help her orient herself.
Done with her fish, she stepped forward and returned a friendly howl, eyes on the other wolf. Watching.
