Naturally, Shadow was out on patrol once more. Truth to be told, the Roman liked patrolling a lot more than he liked hunting, perhaps it was because he could fight trespassers if someone was foolish enough to ever intrude. Or maybe it was because he could be alone, alone with his thoughts and think clearly for once. He was sounding a bit like Adair now, he wondered where the older wolf had gone. The brown male was always the Galileo of the Bypass, but he was gone and the Bypass did not have a wise elder.

Their numbers were gradually growing, but they still needed more warm bodies, so instead of kicking out trespassers, he would see if they were good material and give them a chance to join, if they wish to. But lately, no one came by the Bypass borders, and the leader was growing worried. Shadow prayed to the gods to send wolves to his pack, they needed more if they were to survive winter and fend off incoming attacks that were hopefully not going to come. Swiftcurrent Creek was hell a lot of trouble.

Pausing in his steps, the regal noticed the scent of a loner, a stranger and began moving in that direction, a curious look in his silver gaze. There, a respectful distance away from the borders, sat a brown wolf. For a moment, he thought it was Adair before realizing it was not. Maybe Shadow could have a chat with this loner, after all it was a rare occasion when he could, usually he was chasing their scrawny asses away. "Hello," he greeted him.
