He hadn't paced far when another noise caught his attention, one starkly different from the sounds common to the sea. Malachi's ear turned first before the rest of his head followed suit, crystalline eyes falling upon an angular figure who fast approached. Tasting the air with a hasty breath, Malachi picked up nothing but the encompassing scent of sea salt and the pungent taste of wet fur.

Whether or not Malachi would call himself lost was a point he would argue. He knew where he was, and he knew his way home. He knew where he wanted to go - he just didn't know the way there. Malachi took a moment to consider before answering the stranger. "No." But he hesitated, and after a pause added, "Well, not exactly." Shifting to face the man entirely, the boy analyzed the wolf again. Like a creature from the sea, the stranger dripped of salty brine, and his longer fur stuck in wayward clumps. If not a native to this place, Malachi took him to be comfortable with it at the least. Turning his head slightly, his eyes narrowed in contemplative question. "Do you know these shores well?"
